This Max/Min thermometer registers the highest and the lowest temperature readings measured from the last setting. A “U” shaped tube holds mercury. As the temperature increases, the liquid expands, forcing the mercury up the maximum scale. When the temperature falls, the liquid contracts, and the mercury follows it back up the minimum scale. Two blue markers record changes in temperature.

  • Mercury filled
  • Two black markers record changes in temperature
  • Limit markers are held in position by a magnet in the back of the case
  • Pushbutton reset releases limit markers

Model
MM2
Range
-40 à 50°C (-40 à 120°F)
Size
9" (22.8cm) high

Instructions:

The markers are held in position by a magnet in the back of the case. The Max/Min temperatures are read at the bottom point of the markers. The current temperature can be read at the top of each mercury column.

Note: The minimum scale is inverted with the lower temperatures above the high ones. Press the center button to reset the Max/Min readings.  The thermometer should be held upright for the button to work properly (gravity helps reset readings).

Bubbles in the capillary will disappear if the thermometer is put on a heater.

Should the mercury column separate, the thermometer must be shaken to unite the mercury. If one of the blue Max/Min markers disappear, press the button during the shaking process, and it will appear again.

Do not mount or place the thermometer in direct sunlight.

Warning: This product contains mercury and should be disposed of properly in accordance with applicable federal and provincial laws.
