The S11S automatic drumm seeder from the Italian company Mosa Green (Macchine OrtoFloroVivaismo) works by suction in the holes on a roller and sows very small quantities of seed at a time.
A drum seeder is usually a faster solution than needle seeder, because the drum rotates and constantly picks up and discharge seeds on the trays.
It is an electronically controlled machine based on the SDS = "Small Drum System" in which the speed of the transport conveyor is independent of the speed of the seed drum. For this reason, it is possible to operate several seedlings with the same drum instead of purchasing special drums with several nozzles. Aluminum roller with a very easy and quick to change interchangeable system of special stainless steel nozzles for raw seeds up to 0.5 mm.
The machine is equipped with a supplied electronic display control to adjust / set the working speed, the number of seeds, the data of the different trays with which to work, etc.
Electrically and pneumatically operated using a compressor (compressor not included).
The S11S is designed to match the Mosa Green seed line.
Other configurations included:
- Continuous cleaning of high pressure nozzles
- Blow bar to eliminate double seeds
- 1.5 KW sub-silent vaccum pump
- Speed adjustment via an inverter which also controls the tray filler (if connected)

The trays run upon a conveyor belt. And the seeder drum is moved by an independent motor. That means that you can tell the drum to turn as many times as you need to drop as many seeds as you need inside each pot or tray cells. Or, second option to do the multiple seeding, you can drill or install more nozzles per cell or pot, on the drum surface. The difference between these two options is that if you drill one hole per pot, if you want 10 seeds, the tray needs to stop and the drum needs to turn 10 times. In this case the speed production is slow, because the tray needs to stop at each row of cells or pots. On second option the seeder never stops, so it can do 500 – 600 trays/hour (depending on type of tray and seeds) |
