Phosphorus (P2O5) | 54.3% |
Phosphoric acid (H3PO4) | 75% |
Used for water acidification. Phosphoric acid is safer than nitric acid, but it reacts with calcium (Ca), magnesium (Mg) and iron (Fe) to form an insoluble precipitate that can clog an irrigation system , especially if the irrigation water is hard (+ 150 to 200 ppm of CaCO3). Phosphoric acid brings phosphorus to the nutrient solution (amount of phosphorus to consider for the calculation of the fertilizer recipe). Excess phosphorus causes elongation of seedling internodes.
