This plastic liquid level switch can be installed inside a water tank or fertilizer solution and can be connected to a controller and then to a pump. The controller can actuate and/or stop the start of a pump or a valve to fill the tank to a precise level.
This float can also be used to trigger an alarm on a high or low level.
The switch can be installed in a normally open (NO) or normally closed (NC) configuration. To change the configuration, simply reverse the direction of the float. To do this, remove the tip in a semicircle, remove the float ring, reverse the direction of the float ring and then reinsert it and replace the tip in a semicircle. It is possible to check the electrical configuration of the switch using a multimeter. If the meter reading indicates a value (about <10.0 ohms) when the float ring is at the base and then no value when it is no longer there, the circuit is normally closed (NC). If the meter reading does not indicate a value when the float ring is at the base and then a value (about <10.0 ohms) when it is no longer there, it is normally open (NO).
