PRODUCT DESCRIPTION & PACKAGING
BioStratiolaelaps (Stratiolaelaps scimitus) is a soil-dwelling predatory mite whose nymphs and adults feed on fungus gnat larva, thrips pupae and other small invertebrates. These predatory mite stay at the base of plant stems and on the soil, rarely transferring onto the plant itself.
BioStratiolaelaps are most effective when applied before pest populations get well established and may be applied to propagation media.
A soil-dwelling predatory mite, 'Strateos' are used in greenhouses, interiorscapes, nurseries and outdoor crops.
BioStratiolaelaps is available in 1 liter bottles of 25,000/50,000 mites or in 5 liter bags of 125,000/250,000 mites.
STORAGE
- Storage temperature: 8-12°C (46-53°F)
- Do not store in sunlight
- Apply early morning or late afternoon
- Roll back & forth before use
- Store horizontally
APPLICATION
- BioStratiolaelaps is shipped in insulated, chilled boxes. Packaging must be kept intact until placed in the field.
- Remove the product containers from the box, one at a time and empty their content as quickly as possible.
- Release the predatory mites evenly on the soil surface or on rock wool blocks, preferably in a shady area.
- Do not expose the bottles to direct sunlight.
The amount and frequency of the application (introduction rate) is determined by the target crop, level of infestation, weather conditions and damage inflicted to the crop.
